There was a light frost in my area, and most of the leaves on my fruiting Raja Puri were burned and have been cut off. The fruit doesn't seemed to be damaged that badly, there are just a few blackened areas on some of the fingers and on some of the tips. The bunch cover did a good job. With not very many leaves left except on the pups, do the fruit still have a chance of maturing? I believe there are 6 hands.

The plants that were under the overhang, which I will be bringing up to Santa Clara in a week, have escaped damage.

Sorry to hear, but weather is never something totally predictable, unfortunately. Hope the fruit still matures....I say leave it on there and see what happens. You've got nothing to lose.

Oops, it's because I moved them to another album in Photobucket. I'll fix that right now.

As long as there are *some* healthy leaves on anything sharing the same corm as the p-stem w/fruit, your fruit *should* continue to grow & ripen.

We've had similar mischief with our "Not-So-Dwarf" Orinocos no longer being able to fit under the winter greenhouse/lean-to, so most all the foliage on a couple fruiting plants had been trimmed off back in Nov.
It just taking them a little longer to ripen, but that's probably more of a temperature function than anything else.
The important thing is the fruit is every bit as tasty & continues to plump up!
