i am still trying to find out how to make the fiber finer,silker..i peel and hang to dry..i use it to tie up plants,bind stuff...how do i work it to make it more like fine thread..i want to be able to spin thread from fiber..

sort out the still fresh & strong then dried up to about 80% dry and then plait / braid...

in my opinion, you can try to soak it in water, or boiled (to fastened the process) ... this will separate the strong fiber ..... and you will see a strong fiber and fine ...... but mostly found fibers are stronger when woven or become elongated coiled like a rope ..

I know next to nothing about fibers, so I'm hoping kom the "banana fiber expert" will fill in any important details I might omit.

After harvesting my first banana plant, it was almost impossible not to notice that the center fruiting stalk had very thin, soft and extremely strong fibers.
