It's days like this that get me feeling a little crazy like I want to plant something but wait, it's the middle of January in Indiana. It's 60 degrees and I can't plant anything!:waving:

I hear ya...I live in South Jersey. I still havent wrapped my trachies, and keep my bananas opened up during the day. We haven't really had a bad freeze here yet, BUT it is coming tomorrow...4 to 5 days of sub freezing temps. It had to happen sometime I guess!

We're back to normal now, about 15 F out now and single digits tonight.

If this is global warming, I'll take it. Any day I have to wear long pants is a bad day. I think I have only had about 4 this entire winter. And everything looks so lush, I can almost fool myself into thinking I'm in the caribbean.

You can keep that stuff.. I know my heat-tapes are good to 13F but I'm not trying to press my luck.. I like shorts weather too, speaking of yesterday.. & hopefully more this week. :^)

Farming in shorts and no shoes or shirt works for me, and the ocean view sure helps to remind me I'm in the Caribbean.
Nick, if you need an invitation or some tickets let me know.

I'm with you there! We're often scared into the event as global warming or climate change or whatever they're going to call it next and all the bad things supposedly associated with it, they don't consider the positive things associated such as you speak. :bananas_b

Funny, people still play Bball in shorts and tees until the temps go below 30 here in new Jersey. I still jog in shorts, just put a jacket on top.....It's all about what we are accustomed to I guess.

Well exercise clothes & lounging clothes is a whole different matter. Today I'd get looked at goofy if I wore them and its nice out.. Shorts & sweatshirt weather. :^)

It was in the low 60's today in Northwest FL. After getting tired of El Presidente's swearing in ceremony I dismantled the pipe for my wood burning stove and cleaned the tar and soot out of it. It needed it very badly and it is about 19 ft long. I burn it out in the drive way with diesel and then clean out the ash with a wire bush. Forecast is 39 F for tonight. Guess I will go procure a log or two and split it up for tonight.

I did all my log splitting last summer on the hottest week of the year! It was a good sweat. Friend of mine lost a white oak about 60-70 ft. tall and he gave it to me. Burns nice and warm. Just lit some about an hour ago.

As my forestry professor put it, people in Siberia would probably like it a little warmer. My climatology professor told us that most of the increase is was in nighttime temps, which is a bad thing for crops in the midwest but a good thing for people like me.

Man, that sounds good. It hasn't been above freezing here in a week & a half. At least winter is 1/2 over at this point! The back half of winter is always better than the 1st half weather-wise.
