Those plants are beautiful. Wish I had one. I do grow the California Elephant Ear.

Very nice. Mine are nothing but stems from the cold weather but will be back strong in the springtime.

Thank you very much!
My ones also lost all leaves last year after temperatures had been -4 degree Celsius. The leaves broke away directly on the ground and I was sure that they are dead but they came back in spring with a lot of suckers.

Nice!! Mine just flowered also. It shot out two little white flowers. I did not even know that they flowered at all. I would also expect that the flowers would be much larger next to the leafs the flower is a dwarf. Do you know if this plant will make seeds? I have had mine over a year and no pups.

Yes I have even written that these seeds should also be easy to germinate. Unfortunatelly I had no seeds before. Maybe this time.

Markus, where did you buy your thailand giant? I have been looking for it all over Europe but can not find it.

Hi Henk,

I´ve imported them from the USA four years ago. In my nursery in Baveria, Germany I have very much Thai Giants and many more rare Colocasia species in differeent sizes. You can check my website frosthartepalmen.de

Where do you come from? 25.-26. May we have open house and are happy to show all intrested people our greenhouses and plants. I´m sure you whould enjoy that.

I tried to buy one in the US but the sellers won't ship to Europe.
I checked your website but didn't see the thai giant. Vielleicht habe ich mit meiner Nase geschaut.

I live in Holland, a trip to Beieren....maybe on summer holiday :) :0519:

What would the thai giant cost including shipping to Holland?

Thnx, Henk

Dear Henk,

Yes you need a Phytosanitary Certificate from the USA and this you only get when you have a import permit for Colocasia. This you only get when you have a registred nursery in EU with regular controls. This only pays off for both sides when the quantity is rather big. This is also the reason why I ship outside the EU only starting a special order sum because all this is not cheap and takes much time. So I can understand US sellers.

Sorry I really put the Thailand Giant as sold because I have young plants only in a limited number and the adult mother plants are getting very much offshoots in the moment. In the spring I will have them available again.

Whould be so great when you whould come to my place. I have very much rare species available that are not listed on my website.

For prices I will send you a pm because I think it´s the wrong place to list here.

Mine also bloomed as well. I had my in a large pot that I bring in during the winter and put it in the window. Some leaves are kept thoughout until spring when it just starts again :) Love the plant.
