In a previous thread the idea came up about my DC having bunching of the leaves. Now it seems to be getting worse. It has been putting out new leaves kind of quickly. I've kept up with watering, but I'm surprised it's growing this fast in December. A new leaf came out last week and hasn't completely unfurled yet... meanwhile there is another leaf pushing through... I assume it's a leaf... it looks like another leaf and not a flag. First photo shows the new leaf and the second photo shows how it seems to be bunched. Red arrow shows the center where the new leaf is coming out of the one that is barely unfurled. Is this a problem, something to be concerned about?

A couple of my dwarf varieties do this each year when the weather gets cooler than they like. Dwarf Red is the worst offender, but Dwarf Cavendish isn't far behind. Rajapuri is another that will bunch up and sometimes choke. I don't think there is anything you can do to alleviate the problem. Blame it on winter.
