Hello ;'

Can any one identify the Type Of Banana Plant That Produces the Green Chiquita Cooking Banana ? Its Not a Plantain , In PR we boil it add sone avacado , salt cod lettuce,Tomatto and other veggies to make a hardy meal.

we also use it to make PR Pasteles :nanadrink:.

To me it just looks like an unripe Cavendish.

The WP Does Not Indicate The Type Of Plant , Are they JUst Green Gran Naim ?

Chiquita bananas are Grand Nain. Let it sit for a while and it will turn yellow and ripen.

Yep, looks like a Gran Nain. Pretty much a rip-off if you ask me. If one wants to cook with a Plantain, one should be able to get a true Plantain.

Green Bananas are not a "rip-off" in PR, they are in fact the most economical of all bananas.

It is sold as a green banana not a plantain and the price is about half that of a ripe banana.

If one wants to cook with a green banana, one should be able to get a true green banana.
