It's hard to tell by looking at the plants themselves, but the bananas at the beginning of the video are definitely not Ice Creams. The reddish tinge on the plants and the light colored leaves could be due to nitrogen deficiency.

I just took a look at one of his other videos, and it has footage of the bananas on the plant with the flower bud. Those are definitely Namwah.

I watched the video. If your putting the pups in one gallon pots which are way way to small you need to remove the corm :)
But as far as I am concerned I would want all the corm available. I guess that's just personal preference... He did a great job on his video and it was interesting to see .. Probably more interesting was my cringing as he cut away corm :ha:
I have purchase 3 plants labeled ice cream . One I pulled and tossed it as it started to rot. The other two were WALL MART purchases ha ha ha .. Hey Namwah taste great to me so if I get any blooms 2013 Ill be happy And Ill report here . One day I'll see one in bloom... Then I guess Ill ask for a pup from a plant I've actually seen

I also have three plants labeled Ice Cream. One is Raja Puri, one is probably Namwah, and the other one is actually the real thing.

I actually commented on one of his YouTube videos, and he said that he is also growing Ice Cream in Hawaii, and that the one he has in Fremont is a different plant. So there you go.

It should be. It came off of Jon's plant, which, when I went there, was in fruit. It was DEFINITELY the real Ice Cream.

As per this image on the alohatropicals website, I would say it is the real "ice cream." Does anyone have a different opinion as to this? If so, then it is only the real source if the picture is of the actual product.

Is this a new/different variety than IC-BJ or another name for BJ?
Since it is described as from Belgium is it cold hardy?

GB Is a great place to visit ! Don is a really cool Guy !
Its a banana paradise there , the only reason i didnt buy a Java from there ,is because some one mentioned on the forum that he gets his TC From Agri-Starts & The Javas Might Be Namwa Nanners ..
