I've seen
banana stems used for paper fiber in Australia, sound absorbing cieling tiles in malasia and indonesia, and flooring tiles somewhere else,(can't remember where). There is lots of raw material and it should not go to waste. I'd like to hear more about this campaign, A clear definition of the idea would help. Also, any info on who is backing and promoting the campaign, and links to related websites would spark more interest.
I'm working on a simple machine to process banana stems to use as pig feed. My test pigery is on Cebu Island, Philippines. We are already mixing equal parts banana stem with comercial feed with excelent results and huge cost savings. It's very labor intensive, and the quality of processing affects the amount of nutrition available to the pigs, so a machine will improve yield and save a lot of sore muscles.
Get back to me,(us), with more of your story soon.
Jack
