Thanks,
I was thinking maybe it was a bird of paradise. I just started with bananas so I really don't have a clue. Can you have birds go dormant in the winter like other bananas? or do you have to keep it awake all year? |

I am not sure, BOP's are new items in my plant collection. Got my giant one from a friend at work, & got a small one from a lady in FL, through a plantswap. Although, I in S. TX never know how bad our winter will be, I will move it inside our lean to for the winter. It's currntly in a large pot. I plan on transplanting the giant next spring. The orange one, will get a larger pot once it gets root bound in the cuurnt pot, it had root rot issues when I first got it. It finally is beginning to put on new leaves.

Do you know if you can overwinter bop ? The reason I ask is that I have a shore house that is an hour and a half away that I would like to keep this and my other bananas at
But I don't not keep the water or heat on. I was hoping to be able to wrap it up real good for the winter. |
