these bananas are at a local green house. they have busted out of there pots and rooted into the floor. there as tall as the roof so IDK how they will fair but I would like to know what they are incase I want a pup from them. theres about 20 in total since they have pupped. the owner just says there "tropical bananas" and has no idea what they are. I can go back and get other pics if ones are needed.

Dwarf Cavendish, or some other dwarfed variety in the Cavendish subgroup.

Ensete do not pup at all (unless forced to do so by drastic measures), so that rules out that. Also, they do not have any red on them that the maurelii have.

I was thinking dwarf cavendish as well as a possibility.

Very politically correct answer. :^)

Do any of the pups have red splotches? Any of the water suckers that have broad leaves? Because I,m not seeing any red blotches on any of the pups pictured, which would be a pretty sure thing with cavendish group. I,m thinking some kind of dwarf Orinoco type.

Good points Sandy, but there's not many (any?) small water suckers shown. Definitely not dwarf Orinoco, which has closed petioles canals.

The petiole canal is too open and the wings are too spreading for Rajapuri.

there are pups here and there but most as large now. I didn't see any with wine spots myself. on the largest one I peeled back a little leaf on the stem and it did look a bit red like a cav. but thats the only thing. no wine spots and the p stem is MASSIVE on that one.

Raja Puri as a tiny pup mine had wine spots, once it got up a ft tall then all gone. Now its three ft tall and just a plain green nanner.
