This is what happens with me.....................when I recieved my 1000 fingers.............

After 2 weeks in the box..........it arrive in the end of the winter............and I had to make some extra care.........................

I had to remove all rotten parts.................pot it................and give it some heat..................that came from a clear roof.................here in my house..........

So................I found this video today.....................and this situation is exactly the same.................

Today my 1000 finger is gorgeous..............

But this kind of management was crucial.............

I think it looked like a pretty big pup to be doing so badly. If you keep a pup dry while its rooting that kind of care is unnecessary. :^)

Just remove ALL of the rot. Cut it to the corm if you need to. I cut my Pisang Ceylon down to the corm because it was showing no signs of growth, and now it's coming right back.

I don't know if your PC was a pup, but anything in transition to getting established is going to take 3-4 weeks. I water the ground or mulch not on the plant and that black stuff is dry and is later removed. When a pup is ready to grow it will and punch right thru the outter layers covering the top. If its a chopped plant you get in the mail its almost the same thing.
A plant w/ roots and leaves is the best way to go, that's why there are triangle boxes. :^)

I removed a very small Pup from my Dwarf.................and the only thing I noted is that this pup just stop to grow vigorouslly.................when it was attached to the Mother Plant.................

I pulled this pup with as much soil as I can take...................with minimum root disturb.................

I planted it in the shadow..............

Its bright green..........

Maybe in shipment...............where all roots are removed..............as well as the main leaves.................a situation like this is common.................

I was affraid.............because it was my first time managing an imported pup..........

And when I planted it in the garden..................it becomes root............

So..............I decided to pot it...............and I made the same procedure as in the video...............

Maybe if I left the 1000 finger in the garden...............I had lost it............

After the fifth leaf sprout..............I removed it again to the garden............where it is planted right now..................
