Hi everyone,
I have a basjoo (at least that's what I think it is) that I picked up in a clearance section of a local nursery. The plant looked really rough when I first got it, but has improved considerably. However, it has this weird leaf problem that starts with oldest growth, and consistently kills leaves from edges to petiole. It has never "outgrown" this despite a major change in sunlight, temps and watering. It could be the soil (straight miracle garden soil), but looks remarkably like sigatoka (which i really hope it's not). Is this some sort of soil problem or is it sigatoka? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

hi !

I have the same on my bajoo(s).

Maybe just because less warm and more rain. (i think)

+ too much roots in too small pots (my case)

Looks like over watering or feeding. Remove it from the pot and inspect the roots for pest also. Wash off all roots and pot in another pot with better quality soil. That's what I would do. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the replies! It seems then that the pot is too small with the wrong kind of soil. I'll try to repot it and put it in the ground next spring. So glad to hear it's not sigatoka!

Overfertilizing. I had the same issue a few years ago with my basjoos.
