Hi, I am Dan from Maine. I just started getting into growing bananas not quite a year ago. I just have a super dwarf cavendish at this time, but I am looking to branch out and try some other varieties. Ideally if I can get my hands on a Cocos I would try it, but I would welcome any suggestion on dwarf varieties! With luck I can actually have some fresh bananas growing here in the North! :03:

Hi Dan from Dan in Florida. Number one requirement for zone 5 --- greenhouse, heated. That way you can grow out large pups in the GH and have a chance of fruiting in summer. Go for short cycle naners --- Viente Cohol comes to mind.

Thanks for the welcome everybody! I had never heard of Viente Cohol, but I did a little research and it looks like it would be perfect to try and grow around here. I am learning things already!
