I picked up a mat of these from someone losing their house to foreclosure.

I'm stoked that it's bloomed and given me the chance to identify.
No more guessing. :08:
that is nectar dripping and it's quite sweet

8-10ft pstem only 8inch diameter, no pink on pstem, kinda green-yellow like orinoko (clearly it isn't)
some pink fringe when pups are very young, fades
hints of pink in midribs also fading
droopy leaves
prolific pupper

looks closest to namwah http://webebananas.com/bpix/BP940-22.jpg
just want to be good and dang sure. Too many mis-ID bananas.

that looks exactly like the dwarf Namwah I had blooming in my dining room last year. I had to mop that nectar up every day. What a mess!

Would it be possible to buy this type of banana somewhere? If you know of some place where I can get them please email me michelle.kollar@aol.com

Yes, Dwarf Namwah is widely available, as well as Tall Namwah. If you ever see what is labeled as an 'Ice Cream' at Home Depot or Lowe's, that's probably Tall Namwah. AgriStarts Ice Cream is Tall Namwah. There are also plenty of members here with DNW. The fruit of the two plants is pretty much identical, the only thing that differs is growth habit.
