I have a misa luki I planted in the ground in zone 6b this spring. It was a small pup and is now about 8 ft tall and 6" in diameter at the base. Does anyone have an idea about the cold hardiness of this banana? I am considering leaving it out and building a wire frame around it, stuffing it with straw and hoping for the best. My hope is that it will flower next year. It has zero pups. I also have an Ice Cream that is slightly smaller. Same problem.

I'd dig them both up up there. :^)

Ice Cream and Misi Luki have about the same level of cold hardiness. Dig up and store both of them, they wouldn't survive your winter.

Should I wait for cold to kill the leaves or just go on and cut, dig and store?
