First off I'm a new banana keeper and what I have pictured below is a Cali-Gold. I'm over-wintering indoors in a 5 gallon bucket with peat moss and perlite and pot ash. I've had it now for about 2 weeks and a few days along with a D. Namwah. The Cali-Gold use to not have any stem on it 2 weeks ago, so all the growth in the photo is 2 week growth.
My question is this; has anybody ever had a very lite white powdery film appear on the pseudostem and new growth? Maybe it's dust that has settled in the area where they're being kept underneath the grow light, I don't know. I like to assume that it's dust from the pot ash or dust from the particles falling and going around in the air HAHAHHA. Does anybody have any ideas? Just wondering, the Cali-Gold seem's to be growing ok for now, but the D.Namwah I suppose is still trying to settle it's roots in. I water one drinking cup of water per week.
