This is the same nana that was sold to me as a "banana hardy" knowing good and well it isnt. Im' sure its in the cavendish family but I would like to narrow it down to the most likely one. I went ahead and potted it up to bring it in since it will be in the low 30's friday night. thanks for the help

The leaves have wine spots and are pretty wide

The lower Pstem is a bright purple color

Definitely in the Cavendish family. It's hard to tell exactly which one it is at this stage.

its potted up and inside for the winter hopefully next year I can get some good growth out of it and get a positive ID

That looks just like my banana plant! Except for the dark blackish specks, looks pretty much the same. I know that mine is a grand nain , so yours might be as well.. Not an expert though, just taking a guess. (Take a look at my pics if you want) . Oh and I believe that they are not cold hardy, so good thing you brought it inside!
