I've marked it as Mysore in my photo album, but just want to verify with the naner experts. The pseustem diameter is thinner than other types of bananas, is that a characteristic of Mysore? I was gonna wait a little longer to harvest it, but my dog somehow dragged a leaf down and collapsed the p-stem. Can't wait to taste a Mysore for the 1st time? How does it compare to Namwah (which I think is excellent)?

Do you have a photo of the underside of a freshly unrolled leaf? Or a shot of the bunch from the side? EDIT photobucket was not showing the side views.

Looking at the bunch it does not look like Mysore to me.

No luck on identification with me but great looking banana holders. Where you get those I want one.

Cool looking but I would have to say no to mysore. Mine is close to 6ft and it has a thick p-stem and its a deep red!

The brown holder is from WalMart. The "banana" holder is from Amazon. :bananas_b

Side views of the bananas, underside of leaf, and what the rest of the mat looks like. Thanks,

The newer leaves right after unfurling should have a reddish bronze shade to the undersides.

The midribs stay pink even after the bronze color fades.

The bunches are very tightly packed, so tight you can't see the peduncle.

My pseudo-stems do tend to be smaller in diameter than say a Dwarf Brazilian.

At least now I know mine are not Mysore.
Thanks,
