Hello
Hi everyone, I am new, but I never got the chance to introduce myself and today, I found the time to visit this website. My name is Leonie but please call me "Leni". The reason I got into bananas is because I have some cockatoos that loves to eat bananas. Each parrot likes to have their own bananas. So, one day, I bought a miniature size bananas and I gave 1 banana for each bird and they all went crazy eatting their own banana. They loved to peel the bananas themselves and eat them. I decided to start collecting varieties of bananas. I now have 2 varieties of bananas and I do not know the name of these two. I took some pictures last night for you guys to help me identify it. 1 banana plant was from my parents and they don't know the name of it and it's not a dwarf variety. For this one, I didn't take pictures because it's not big enough to be able to identify. For the second one, is a dwarf banana tree and I'm not so sure what the name is, but the owner who I bought it from said it's a vietnamese dwarf banana tree, but don't know the name of the specie or cultivar or hybrid. Now, I'm seeing pinkish color (pretty color) on the edges of the leaves and along the trunk. I'm starting to think it could be Musa acuminata, but not quite sure. When I notice the pink color, I'm starting to doubt and feel disappointed that it may not be a fruit tree but an ornamental which I didn't want an ornamental banana tree. Hope any of you guys could help me identify this pretty banana tree.
