Does it have any red on the leaves? Its a super Dwarf either SDC or Lil prince I'd say. If its all green I'd lean to lil prince. :^)

Hi Chomper,

A lot of us on the forum are good detectives.

Now give us some info. We have the means to find out!!!!!!!!

What is the nursery name? Where are they located?

When did you buy it?

Where are you located?

How much did you pay for it?

These are all questions that can pinpoint your results
Better answers===== better results

Just saying.

Hey Im actually now learning alot about bananas lol, who ever thought i would. but this is my guess and i will provide the details below. I think its a DC or SDC, the leaves are starting to show stains of red.

Hi Chomper,

A lot of us on the forum are good detectives.

Now give us some info. We have the means to find out!!!!!!!!

What is the nursery name? Valleyview nursery
Where are they located? Toronto/Scarborough ontario

When did you buy it? Maybe 2 weeks ago

Where are you located? Toronto

How much did you pay for it? $7.99

These are all questions that can pinpoint your results
Better answers===== better results

Just saying.

it had the little stick/ID thing from going-bananas then when i checked their site out they habe the nain, and DC.

I dont believe its a basjoo as the red is starting to appear. its growing fast, about a leaf a week.

Hi, and welcome to bananas!

Leaves look bunchy...... Not basjoo, because they are very tall(Here, most banana plants growing outdoors are basjoo because they are one of a few species that are hardy to survive here).
Many banana species have red blotches(I think that trait comes from the genes of Musa acuminata, which has a lot of red on their leaves - plantains usually don't have that much blotches because of that) so I don't think we can say yours are DC or SDC from those blotches. Maybe it could be one of other dwarf species.

Edit : I couldn't find any naners at the homepage of valley view nursery. Hmmm...... It should be better to ID if I can get some pics. Also, the naner in my profile picture is DC. Does it look like yours?

Yes, probably DC, but could be SDC. Time will tell.
