Hello everyone!!!
I am new at growing banana plants. I have been reading up trying to learn. I received 2 small plants, about 6 inches tall. The leaves were green and seemed well watered. However once I planted then in a container the leaves dried out and wilted. I'm afraid they may die. It has been over 100 degrees the past few days and will continue. I think the sun has burned them.
I also received a 4 foot plant, I am afraid the same thing will happen also.
I have been watering them frequently during the day to ensure they don't dry out. I moved them to a somewhat shaded area so they don't die completely.
I would plant them in the ground, but the cooler season will be approaching and I seems foolish. I would like to dig them up to bring thm inside.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas as to what I can do to keep them from dying? Also any ideas what the best fertilizer to use?
