Hi guys,
I'm growing a Truly Tiny indoors, but light is kinda low. It gets maybe 2-4 hr. of bright light and some sunlight a day. I have a 60 w plant light (incandescent) that i've been using to help supplement it, but I'm not sure how much it really helps. I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with these and how many hours these need to be on to have any benefit. I've seen some really nice supplemental light set ups, but there just too darn expensive lol Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

use CFL not incandescent which is a total waste
you want daylight or bright white or 6500K if you can do numbers

light is funny
if you have a value of 10 lumens per sq whatever @ 1ft and you double the distance from the light to 2ft then you halve the intensity to 5 lumens and @4ft you have 2.5 lumens
MOVE THE LIGHT CLOSER

they have sockets that pulg into an outlet @ home depot
get 4, get a surge strip, get 4 bulbs TADA if they are20- 26 watts each then you are all set for the life of the plant

go look at the pot growers forums for lights info.. those guys are all indoors growers so they live and die by lights
here is a DIY link thread with days of reading LOOK AT LIGHTS REFLECTIVITY

check that $15 batwing reflector out !
if you can't figure this stuff out with the internet then........

Those Pot growers really have it all figured out! I accidentally stumbled on a site when I was searching for information on Cannas and found they've certainly cracked the code on growing pot. They have specialty fertilizers for just about every week of the life of a pot plant. Just think if they had that kind of information on growing bananas indoors...

I'm worried about bieng OT or in a taboo area here but..

much of the information is applicable and no where else will you find such a broad range of technologies discussed in depth
Hydroponics has been dissected and explained in simple terms (stoner), with very smart people scouring agricultural publications and technical papers for some clue how to gain 0.05% more total plant weight.
PRG chemicals, home made feminized seed, humidistat controlled fans? (used that one for the bathroom fan LOL)

The "Next Thread" at the bottom of this page is titled "Anyone Using Airpots?"
The cheapskate potheads figured out to use landscape fabric to make their own. Or weed blocker cloth.

some of the easiest techniques to incorporate into indoor bananas would be
"Hempy Buckets" filled with coco coir/perlite growing media.

Remote 150w HPS ballast instructions and a homemade batwing (try a coffee can) beat the pants off a 60w incan.
