Here they are! My first bunches of bananas....
They're more yellow than they look, mostly on the back side.
We have a storm heading our way, and the stalk was rotted away to the actually stalk. I didn't want them to end up on the ground.
Anyway! They weighed, in total, 10 pounds and 4 ounces!! CRAZY! Only two hands, but these guys are the largest bananas Iv ever seen. You cant really tell in the picture. They're as long as soda cans, but wider.
Hope Orinoco's taste good.. Ill post some pictures when they are ripe.

Very nice! Orinocos are much better as cooking bananas, and they make great tostones.

Orinoco taste great when they're ripe, much better than a Grand Nain. I've had them cooked. They are way better just ripe.

Incredible picture. That would make a good pic to blow up, get framed, and hang up in your house or business. :bananas_b

Let them get VERY RIPE before you eat them and I don't just mean yellow. Mine have always been the best just about when you think they need to be tossed. They will not be mushy when they look that way unless they wre bruised prior to hanging. They are excellent in my book. I can taste a bit of blackberry in mine. They are creamier and less dry than store bought. I have a bunch with five hands in my house waiting to ripen. Normally they would be still on the tree but I waited one week to long to put out my supports for the bunches. I still have eight more bunches hanging!
