UPDATED: 05/27/2017:
Gros Michels are IN STOCK - 5/27/2017
.
I ordered a couple flats of Gros Michel Plants and wanted to get some of them out if anyone wants one or two.
They were transplanted over a week ago into 4" pots with good soil and have been outside since.
They receive morning sunlight for several hours, and afternoon/evening sun for several hours each day.
They are all looking good and putting out new leaves very quickly and love the outdoors.
They are TC from a USDA cultivated plant by a reputable TC company.
I am asking for 18$ for one plant, that includes shipping.
I'll throw in a second plant for 12$, for a total of 30$ for 2 if you want more than one.
That price includes shipping.
I take paypal.
If you would like one, PM me and we'll get it going.
I'll only ship in the USA.
Thanks
Larry

I was the first one to order these plants and I just wanted to say that I received my 2 Gros Michel bananas from Larry in just two days. They were packed really nicely in the USPS shipping tube with their 4" pots. The pots were sealed so no soil came out. The soil was still damp and the plants looked just like in the pictures. I'm looking forward to see how fast these plants grown here in Tucson.

are the gros michel plants your selling true? are they tall growing variety? I am definitely interested.. where'd you get them? reliable source??
Thanks!
Look forward to doing business with you.
Dan :D
Yes they are the tall Gros Michel Plant. Yes Reliable source, Agristarts, a tissue culturing company that got theirs from USDA Growing grounds.
I've a few left, been selling them here and there. on ebay and such. their loving this heat we're having in San Diego right now....

How's everyone's Gros Michels doing? Mine survived the heat wave we had, but now we're having another one, but they are surviving just nicely.
I placed mine outside as soon as I got them. We've had some 105+ degree temperatures a few times, but the plants are in partial morning to noon sun. They are doing great and I think it's getting time to transplant them to larger pots. I moved them to a more sunny location yesterday, since we are barely reaching 100 now.

I found an Ebay Discount code for Ebay's "Wellspring Gardens". I never pay full price :) for mostly anything/everything! An shh but I was offered another chance of opportunity and will be adding a RED Dwarf and Raja Puri to the man-cave in the backyard! . . . Might just invest in a rainforest setup lol. . .
Any insight on this seller? Seem very legit, an good packaging like yours Larry, 'cept smaller pots to fit priority box.
This "discount code find" is what finally sparked my interest to take care of some Nana plants, and why I'm a Nana hobbyist now ;)

Wells Spring Gardens is good. Good shipping and good price of plants. They are just tissue cultured plants. Some are slower than others, some are pretty fast. I have a Williams and an 1000 Fingers that have grown extremely quick. I have a manzano that looks similar to the way it did when I got it in February.
No complaints though.

True, but some folks (no one associated with this thread) mix and match if someone orders a plant they don't have in stock. You should see the "FHIA-18" I got as a TC from an unscrupulous internet nursery -- it's an SDC and 8' shorter than the real deal!

Wonderful - please mark down one plant for me. We will definitely purchase one. Will we have to acquire it in mid-June or July? Or would it be possible for you to hold it until late August? We are a school and out for the summer, so could possibly arrange planting over the summer, but it would be easier to start in late August.

Typically I don't make lists for people who want them, I tell them to watch the thread. Subscribe to it. But since you are a school, I will try to keep you in mind, but you should just subscribe to the thread. as you will get updated whenever anyone replies or I post that they are available.

UPDATED: 07/1/2015:
Wednesday, July 1st, The gros Michels have finally arrived, I am shipping orders starting tomorrow. I have another 144 coming next week as well.
Get your order in before they are gone!

Alex my name is Michael and I am in Tucson to starting banana plants as well. How are yours doing? Great to meet someone else living here. :08:

Here's what's on the Bananas.org Wiki (http://www.bananas.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Allpages):
Musa Gros Michel (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Gros_Michel)

There is almost nothing there, Richard. I do so wish that with all the experienced members here we would have a much more complete wiki, I am afraid it is not.

Apparently you're not familiar with the nature of volunteer organizations. Any further complaints and we'll shoot poison darts at you! :2723:
What I found in the wiki for Musa Gros Michel (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Gros_Michel) was a list of synonyms, the genetic group (AAA), a few photos and a sparse list of members growing the banana. Pretty good by my experience. For a bit more information, traverse to a page maintained by pitangadiego (http://www.bananas.org/member-pitangadiego.html) for banana cultivars with names beginning in G (http://webebananas.com/bvar-G-I.html). If you scroll down there you will find further background.
As for the Gros Michael TC I obtained from sddarkman619 (http://www.bananas.org/member-sddarkman619.html), it is doing quite well. Here it is shooting up a new cigar leaf during a winter "storm" in my USDA 10b climate:

I am aware how they work. Usually you have a few people who are pretty diligent about filling things like the wiki in if they can.
I am not surprised there is near nothing about Paggi as few even know it exists, but GM is well known and liked so I expected more is all. As my Paggi grows and I learn things people want to know, like height at flowering and cold hardiness I will update the wiki. If one tenth the members here did that with just one cultivar... the wiki would be a storehouse of info for the world...

Would you trust that storehouse of info, given the widespread misidentification of varieties, etc.? I'm not arguing against making the wiki more useful, just pointing out the limitations.
Much of this information is available elsewhere. For example, flowering height is available from USDA ARS-GRIN for many varieties. For Paggi, which came into the hobby trade from USDA ARS-GRIN, it is listed as 11.6'. Gros Michel is listed as 15.5'.

I thought of that, and realize it would not be as complete or accurate as the govt website but better than nothing, I guess. Thanks for the info on Paggi as I googled it a few times and found only the one page with pics of the fruit and almost no other info.
Consequently, I added the info to the wiki.

Sddarkman, you da man. I got my Gros Michel and even after a couple weeks of leaving in the same container and (accidently) bruising the leaves, they are really robust and taking off. Got them in a nice soil mix now. Great bananas you sell, so much better to have a unique good tasting variety than the lousy ones sold in nurseries. You know your ****.
These are some other varieties that your manufacturer also has and was wondering if you'll get these ones in and sell online. Booya, would love to get em from you if you do!
