I went to home depot today and bought a digging bar so that I could remove some pups. After removing some big pups I noticed the flower.
I have a question about this flower. I notice that its growing towards the wall, it looks like it will grow over the wall and into the neighbors yard. Can I tie a rope around the flower and pull it my way so it wont grow over the wall into the neighbors yard?

Friendly neighbors?
That looks like a pretty tall D Nimwah?

is there any way to tie the stem of the plant back towards your place or maybe use a piece of wood and jamb it between the fence and the stem to force the top of the plant towards your side.

That wall is 6ft, and the flower is at about 9ft.

I have a couple cords pulling the p-stem back and another just under the flower pulling it back, however I dont know how much force I can apply. I have it tight so that as it grows it should go in the direction of the pull ( someone correct me if im wrong ).
I'm nervous about pulling it back too much and causing damage.

Just a little at a time should do it. I don't know if you want to but you could dig a little on the side you want it to lean.

My Tall nimwah bloomed at about that height in June -it started leaning badly and had to prop it up to keep the pstem from falling over with the nana bunch.
You might want to water the mat heavily as you pull/push the pstem.
pstems are pretty strong but I would use strap (cargo strap) vs rope - at least use strap or a wide material against the pstem if you are applying force.
Good luck :drum:

Tricky problem ... I have had good luck tying up to support bunches but never tried to twist one, and I don't put a lot of pressure on the string, just try to hold the bunch in the position it is already in.

In your situation I would try Tony's idea of a few strings, tied from your rafters to high on the P-stem and to the bunch itself. The first goal can be to keep the flower bracts from falling on the neighbor's side. Once the bunch has formed, the best leverage / least twisting spot to tie would be below the bunch. (I assume you cut the male part off, leaving a little handle below the bunch, and do the tying the next day after all the dripping.)

Here are a few pix, but just tying for support: https://picasaweb.google.com/114685571384513740781/Banana2SupportingBunches#5679088697671761538

thanks for all the help, I took more photos today and it looks like the flower will stay on my side of the fence.

update, the flower stayed on my side of the wall, i used parachute cord to tie it, today I noticed it really leaning more. Today the summer heat has stopped and might be the end here, so will these babies ripen or no?

yea Tony produces quality pups. I like the way this bunch looks versus the DB, also easier to remove the flowers.

Agree - nice looking bunch - Glad you were able to keep the fruit in your yard - looks like it is time to prop the bunch.

those are for the flies, all it takes is one little piece of poo from the dogs and they multiply. The traps catch alot of them.
