Now some will say that it isn't a TS but no one can post a pick of a known TS

I thought TS originated with Ty-Ty and was suspected of being bogus from the start. I think more than a few nurseries like to give a special name to a plant they have even though it is a known cultivar or maybe because they don't know the name of the cultivar. If it originated with Ty-Ty it is suspect.

Gabe posted some time back (maybe a couple of years) that California Gold might be a more vigorous and/or hardy strain of Dwarf Orinoco (or something to that effect). Such things can only be observed in test plots with other strains. The same can be possible for Texas Star, though I consider the source to be more problematic. I got my Texas Star from someone who said they obtained it from Ty Ty but mine appears odd (maybe not even an edible variety?) and has not flowered yet. I can imagine that Ty Ty may have very well shipped different varieties/selections to fulfill orders for Texas Star, though that is speculation on my part. I believe a Paul from Texas (had a user ID of something like P60, I think) had a Dwarf Orinoco that he said was very hardy and fruited regularly in his climate with very cold winters. Who knows? I think folks can only evaluate these by trying them. I've wasted my money on worse things than a banana plant with high hopes.

Maybe I am the only one with the real Texas Star.I have lots of pups at a reasonable price for such an awesome plant :)

Texas Star does not exist, it is an alias name for Ice Cream! Texas Star is named by Ty Ty to promote, Ty Ty is one unserious and scamy nursery. Yes, Ice Cream is one of the hardiest fruit bananas with Orinoco, Dwarf Orinoco, Dwarf Namwah, Mysore, Saba and Dwarf Brazilian.

Best wishes
