I would kill the aphids just to be safe.

I don't know how it is there, but it seems thrips and leafhoppers are worse about spreading virus than aphids because they are more mobile and can go from plant to plant quicker. Aphids are pretty slow and not too far of a flyer, so unless you have neighboring plants close by with the virus, you're probably good. Agree about getting the aphids off of them though.

Thanks. There were only a few of them but I got rid of them and sprayed all of my nanas. They are slow. I had a young two foot plant right next to my potted keiki so I cut that one up to look and I could not fine a single aphid. They maybe slow but an infected aphid carrying BBTV would suck so bad. I brought the keiki to my work place to isolate and monitor it. We will see. Aloha

I have plenty aphids, and I kill the ones I can see. But once they get too tall, hard to get. I find a lot of them after I cut off dead leaves and pull back where it sticks to the p-stem. The ants seem to like to harvest them there. They've gotten worse the past 2 months, maybe they're worse in summer. Hopefully no BBTV where I live yet, although I've also heard they are island wide on the Big Island. BBTV is definitely on the Kona side of the island but there I've never noticed any when driving around so far. Good luck!
