ps pic is also in my pics :-(
damn, how do i get that pic here ???

http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=50029

Its not a M.ac. Sumatrana

Local name here (in Bangkok) is "Suar Pran" and Pran = tiger
I just can't believe that this is a "Red Tiger" cause they have (half) red leaves.

regards
Peter

ps; i added a link to my bananas.org pic link, so i hope this works.

Fixed your pic:

Looks like Zebrina/Sumatrana...here's a link to the wiki (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Sumatrana_%28Rojo%29).

If you're sure that's not it, the name you listed seems reminiscent of Sikkimensis red tiger (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Sikkimensis_%28red_tiger%2Cmanipur_etc%29) though it doesn't seem to match up in appearance IMO.

I agree with Bryan. Here's my sikkimensis for comparison..

oh your sikkimensis is gorgeous !!
But true, it could still be a simple Sumatrana.
I'll keep it updated here in a few weeks.
thanks

I don't think it's a sikkimensis red tiger. Cavendish varieties have red blotches like that and so does Gran Nain, my guess is that it's an edible variety.

it could also be a sumatrana/gran nain. It does kind of have a wide leaf.
