It's been a few months since I joined this forum, collecting informations - and, finally, I got my first banana plant!

The site I got this plant said it is "Monkey Banana", and I thought it could be Seņorita, since here, in Korea, we call seņorita fruits "Monkey Banana". But, as it was delivered to my home, I can definitely say it is Super Dwarf Cavendish. It would be better than seņorita as I can only grow it indoors - My home doesn't even have a garden!

The environment is also not that good for growing banana - not much sunshine(all of plants I grow bolt too much, so I would like to buy some LED lamps), little space, and the fact that I frequently forget watering them - and not much money!

I think the plant is healthy enough, but still I don't know much on banana plants, so please give me some tips, like what and how to fertilize, on growing this one!

Also, I bought 10 velutina seedlings, so it would be nice if you give me some tips about how to germinate them.

By the way, all of them costed 12 dollars. LOL

Your plant looks very healthy. It definitely looks like some sort of Cavendish, though it's hard to tell for sure if it's SDC or not. I would grow it as close to a window (preferably west or south-facing) as possible and then supplement with artificial lighting. I think flourscent would be better than LED, however. Take it easy on water and fertilizer. Too much water indoors can induce rot and too much fertilizer can cause the plant to put on weak, lanky growth, something you may fight anyway with less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Good luck and welcome to the group!

Thank you, I put her on the most well-lit area of my home, facing south. I'm also considering buying some flourescent lamp tube like you said(because I found that they are not as bright as LED but are a lot cheaper than LED) and supply light.

I think it's SDC, because its leaves are packed a lot, and its really short but has 7 green leaves and 1 coming out.
