I was reading somewhere that some things in TC culture media are not autoclavable. I ordered my phytotech stuff the other day and was wondering if this is true or not. I just don't want to be wasting my media.
thanks

It's supplied as a ready made media with everything you need for TC, everything will be autoclavable, don't worry.

One of the mediums doesn't have the gelling agent or sugar correct? I think Gabe mentioned this recently so I will have to add that though correct?

Yes, but they are both autoclavable.

Thirty some odd years ago, when I did my first TC experiments, the media was not available pre-mixed. You had to mix up about 26 chemicals yourself. After I had done the mixing, I learned that a couple of the ingredients were "Heat labile", liable to change when heated. The experiments, however, worked anyway.
