I have several Dwarf Namwah which I thought was Icecream. They are great but I really curious at trying a "true" Icecream since that would higher than the Dwarf Namwah.
Anyone has one, confirmed Blue Java/Icecream that you can spare, for a cost?

Thanks

I know a few of the members in SoCal have it, including pitangadiego, sunfish, and venturabananas. They have it at the San Diego Botanical Gardens. I'm not sure if any of them can ship to your state though.

What is the definition of true blue java? does it just have to taste like vanilla ice cream or does it have to be blue too? :^)

The true Blue Java is the original Ice Cream cultivar, not the one common on the mainlands, which is a form of Namwah. Namwah doesn't taste like vanilla, and the true Ice Cream does. The whole thing resulted from a TC mislabeling from AgriStarts.

Too bad I can't send them from Hawaii because I have trouble trying to even sell the fruit or plants here at my farmers market. If it is any consolation for those wanting to get them, I find them to be just ok. My partner won't even eat them. They have to get pretty ripe to taste decent, and then they have a fluffy/mushy texture and just ok taste.

The first time I had one I think being told it was called Ice Cream and tasted like ice cream, the power of suggestion influenced me into being wowed by it. But every one I've had since that first one has been a disappointment. Where they are impressive is frozen and then blended into a soft-serve like ice cream without having to add anything. I'll probably rip all mine out eventually. I'd be thrilled if they were really all namwahs, because it has a much better taste and texture for my tastes anyway.
