I have a bed with bananas in it that eventually will be filled with big blue liriope grass once the liriope is mature and spreads out.

Will the banana tree and the liriope be able to co-exist in the same bed or will the liriope eventually choke out the banana tree?

I currently have musa ornata and musa basjoo plants.

Thank you

I have a large mat of basjoo in a bed covered by liriope. First the daffs come up through it, then the basjoo.

I have patches of liriope within my garden and, just to let you know, they will slurp every bit of moisture out of the first 6 inches of soil that you have. Just tossing it out there!! A less robust plant will not make it in the long run . This plant will choke any plant within its root zone . Daffs or other bulbs planted below this zone will still thrive though.
I glycophosphate this stuff all the time to keep it in check.
