I tried to upload some photos and I got an error message saying I had exceeded my limitations. Is this something new or did I just not know about it.

Second thing are we still doing memberships or ???

I don't know if going back to paying is a solution but I'm willing to do that. I hate speading things out over the web if they can be done in-house. Jared has provided a great place. Maybe a group deal for heavy pic posters could be arrainged. I don't know I'm just musing.

Frustrated but understanding it isn't Jareds fault! Heck some forums don't host pictures at all.

You might want to try a blog. Then you can post pictures there keeping a good picture journal of what ever you like. Transfer your images to your blog then you can post pictures here for threads. One real advantage is your archives are dated and searchable. I have mine listed as my signature below.

This forum is really great. I do certainly understand a picture storage limit.

Another thought is for pictures for the forum use the lowest pixel setting on your camera. Mine is set for 640X480. Some cameras have web settings. Web quality pictures is about 2 megapixels if I remember right. Smaller pictures require less storage space.

You can also use a windows program like paint to resize your photos.

I got the same message so i deleted a bunch of stuff only to find out it still won't work. I really don't have that many pics compared to a lot of people on here either. So I've been using Flickr if I need to embed pics but it kinda sucks I wanted to show off this years growth I've gotten..

Charles,

What Randy said!

Plus delete all but 3 or 4 pages and you should be ok. Low quality pics way to go. And don't worry about the archives - so few members do any research at all it don't matter.

Everyone,

Thanks for the help. I really hate to delete photos because I know there are others that will research items like I did. I guess when and if I have time I'll try to cull the ones that were not used in posts. Although it requires additional steps I guess I'll start uploading my photos to some other place: Blog, cloud or image hosting service. I know this will effect other members who post a lot of pictures much more than me.

When I take a photo, it usually results in a 4 Mb size photo, but prior to posting it I do some cropping, and size reduction. By the time I post it, it is usually around 7 - 8 kb. Maybe that would help?

Yes that does work but if you have a slow computer and changing websites is real slow it gets frustrating especially when you just don't have time. Even when I could upload here sometimes I could only do one photo (never could do four at a time) and it would take three to five minutes to do it. One post that has four photos would end up taking me twenty minutes minimum as I am not a typer either.
