Hello wise and learned,

This is my first year into banana madness. :woohoonaner: I live in Fort Myers, FL Zone 10 a (most maps suggest this) We have recently started having summer rains and my bananas seem to be taking off. (The leaves have jumped in size anyway)

I've started noticing some yellowing and a few holes in the leaves. Also some of the older leaves get discolored. (Pictures below) I am wondering if with all of this new rapid growth if I have a micro nutrient deficiency or perhaps overwatering with all this rain. These soils do not drain well and I have had to put in an underground drainage system for my two mangos and orange tree I planted this year. I am starting to wonder if the bananas need it too, but I would hate to disturb their roots and they appear to be growing very vigorously now.

Anyways I will take as much advice as you are willing to write. If there are any locals, suggested products would be very appreciated.

Thank you for all of the help. :D

I'd get a professional soil test first to see what you are dealing with. Those symptoms are pretty typical of calcium and/or boron deficiency, but could be caused by something else, too. Certain environmental conditions (amount of water, temperature, etc.) can exacerbate the problem. (Nick could say more about that.) And anything that causes the plants to grow really fast (good temps, lots of water or fertilizer) can exacerbate a micronutrient deficiency because many of them (e.g., boron and calcium) are transported into the tissues slowly. It's nothing that will kill your plants -- they just won't look that great.
