Hi Everyone - I'm brand new here. I come seeking the advice of the sages - or at least the experienced. I started with one left-behind banana, which I paid no attention to for the fist year and a half of our co-existence. Apparently, it didn't need much attention . Through cold winter, hot summer, and cold winter again, it seemed to stay pretty much the same. Didn't really grow, but didn't seem to be shrinking either. So, I left it alone.
Then one day, out of the blue, I heard that banana wanted more sun. I noticed (for the first time) that its spot in the yard received mostly just morning sun. I said ok banana, let's go. I watched a video or two on YouTube, dug a hole outside my bedroom window, and moved la banana. That was somewhere close to a year ago. And banana thanked me heartily for hearing its plea.
I daresay she has tripled in size. Now, with two pups ready to go venturing out on their own, she is drooping a bit. Knowing next to nothing about amending soil, God knows what I planted her in. So today's project is to separate and transplant the pups (this is how I found bananas.org) and to do whatever Mamabanana needs to keep on growing and recover from raising twins. This probably belongs somewhere other than member intros - but I'll just start here, and if anyone has a recommendation of where to post, I can cut & paste to the right place.
Thanks, and looking forward to learning from all of you!

Welcome, you found the right spot for the answers you need. Many very experienced and learned members that are willing to assist you in getting your plant back on schedule. Might want to shed some light on your location and also photos of the patient. Mostly good soil that drains well, rich in organic materials and supplemented with good composted materials, even watering and a lot of TLC. Good growing and don't forget to post photos.
