Bought a bag 40# of Cow manure compost by mistake at a local hardeware is it ok to use on my nana's? How? Apply to soil/mix with water and make a Poo Poo tea or return it to the hardeware?
You opinions as usual always appreciated.

Snookie ---- Take that bag of cow manure and mix it 50/50 wih the dirt from the holes you dig. Toss the extra dirt. When you see how fast they take off you will agree. Don't make tea -- make a Sazerac!!!
And be sure to use only Peychaud's bitters.
One other thing about cow manure in the bag - it's for plantings in ground only. Not in pots.

Bring it back. I wouldn't use it.

I got a few broken bags once before. I just used it like mulch, spread it accross top of the soil and let the rain pull it down into the soil.

I use it just like Mike says, and, as Tony says, I also use it in potting mix, when I have it.

I use cow manure on every plant I have . Ive used it for years . And horse also.. I just spread it around as worm farmer says and wash it in the ground either by rain or hose/sprinkler.. Ive always tried to apply it just as a rain storm is arriving..
If you over apply it in a pot it will get a little GROSS :)

Is there any other fertilizer mix I could use? And what do I do with dying leaves from a newly translanted Basjoo?

I've been doing the same for 10+ years. I add 2-4" of composted manure several times a year.

Place all of it in a container with nothing else added. Then plant a pup and watch it grow in pure composted cow manure so you can set the record straight!
Actually I think I'll do the same thing. I just bought some more cow manure. I think I'll mix it 50/50 composted manure and perlite. Then I'll dig out a fresh pup and plant it straight into the mix.

The best part of the bagged manure is that despite the higher cost (less if it is composted litter with manure) is that it is composted enough that it wont burn your plants and it shouldn't have any viable weed seeds in it. So...you can just add it around the base of your bananas. Worms will pull it into the soil over time. Manure is great stuff and bananas especially love it. If you have mulch I'd pull the mulch back, add the manure, and then top with the mulch again.

I use composted cow, horse and chicken manure everywhere in my yard and have great success with it. Here is a comparison of the fertilizer value of different barnyard animals (fresh manure), however it needs to be composted first, so it will not burn the plants. You will be OK, because store bought manure should be already composted.

Well, I don't know other than I used it in a garden, tilled it in even with a tiller, and EVERYTHING DIED.
So for me it's a big No No on Poo Poo.

Tommy --- please elaborate on the circumstances. What time of year plus hi/lo temps, ratio of mix, original soil condition, water saturation, what was planted, average weather, etc.
Hey Richard --- stop working the inventory and get back on the forum!
