Any ideas whats wrong with my banana plant?
A little info...
I live in arkansas. Its about 105 here during the day. I water the plant once a day. Its in cactus mix soil in the ground thats about 14" deep. I've been fertilizing it with miracle grow plant food about once a week. Its brown and yellow all around the edges and the new leaf thats coming out has been just sitting there for about 2 1/2 weeks and its getting brown around the top. Here are some pictures...

Hmmm? That's a hard one? Too much fertilizer? How long has it been in the ground??

Yellow well if you have the roots and the bottom of the corm @ 14" and is surrounded by clay soil I'd say its drowning or over watered.. but that's just me trying to speculate.

It was in a 12" pot until two days ago. I thought it might do better in the ground. the bottom of the corm is not that deep but thats how deep i dug it out before i planted it but it is clay deeper than that. i was afraid it wasnt getting enough water. the soil is dry a day after watering. so the heat isnt burning it then?

def too much water and if it was just put into the ground I would err on the side of shock esp in the high temps....Give it some time. Also the fertilizer may be burning its leaves....

im guessing u have had hot dry breezy weather, my banana plants get that way also on older leaves nothing u can really do just wait for fall, banana's love humid weather they are tropical but i have heard and seen from my own plants that when the heat gets above 97 or so the plants stop growing also u want them to have water but like the post above banana are subject to root rot they like lots of water with good drainage

Go out and get u a water probe meter when u stick it in all the way it should atleast go to the middle it shouldnt be maxed out right in the midde is when i water. when I'm not sure if I should water I always use my probe they are like 7 bucks at lowes/home depot
