I managed to get my hands on some plants labeled "Prata Ana". Are these the same as Dwarf Brazilian? If not, how cold hardy are they? Also, is "Walha" the same? All I could find on this one is that it's part of the Pome group and AAB.

I was told yesterday that prata ana and pome are other names for Dwarf Brazilian. Word of mouth, but I have no reason to doubt the source.

yes they are the same. Dwarf Apple, Santa Catarina and Prata Santa Catarina are other names as well. There are many other names though for the tall variety, of which Pome is one.

Isn't "pome" french for apple? There is an apple banana too, also called "manzano". Still, this is not the same as "tall brazilian"?? I am soon giving up trying to understand the cultivars....:nanerwizard:

yes you are right Erlend, there is another variety called Manzano or "the apple banana". However, in places such as Hawaii, Brazillian is usually referred to as Hawaiian Apple or Dwarf Apple and the other us usually just called Manzano as it is elsewhere.
