hello, This will be my first attemt at getting bananas from corms going for the season.I will be trying Enano Giganta and Goldfinger. Is there anything special I need to do once they arrive? Do I just pop them in some well draining soil and wait or do they get a blast of water..... any advise would be appreciated.

Pop in soil or even better, a soil+compost planting hole, water, and check back in a few weeks, depends on how far along the eye of the corm is when you get it.
Check out this video, fast forward to 3:00 minutes in.

If you keep the soil in the pot warm it will stimulate new growth. A bright sunny window will work fine. Siran wrap (or other transparent material) over the pot will hold the heat from the sun in the pot and also keep the humidity high and keep the soil from drying out.

Hope this helps, Cheers :nanadrink:

Hey Ya'll,

This is a good test for me. I took my goldfingers out of storage about a week ago. Cut the pups off the mama corm. Ended up with six plants. Yipee. Gave away two. Planted all but one in ground in a soil/mushroom compost mixture. Well drained. Well watered. They are getting good sunlight. Seeing some leaf growth already on the p'stems. Even the one I have proped against a wall seems to be growing.
Sun, soil, water, and drainage is working for me. I expect to original moma corm to show some signs of pups as well. Will let you know.
My orinocos still seem to be dormant though.
