Hello everyone . I have been experimenting with musa basjoo banana's, hardy palm trees, and other non hardy tropicals for the past few years. I live in Vernon BC, Canada. Zone 5b. I had good luck overwintering my musa basjoo last winter. It came back good this spring , also with 4 pups of various size. Let's just jump in with a question, can I seperate 1 or 2 of the pups now june 9, let me know what you think.included a couple of pics.
thanks
Keith

Welcome. You can separate them now and probably be successful, but I'd probably wait a bit more until they were larger and had more roots. You could dig away some now and wash away soil to see how of a root system originates from the pumps and that would make it easier to make a good decision.
