I just got an 70" iron digging bar from HD today, and the pups on my mystery plant are starting to get big. When would the optimal time be for me to cut them off and repot them?

They currently have about a foot of p-stem and are about a foot and a half to the leaf tip.

You can take them off anytime, but it may slow down the mother plant if you disturb the roots much.

Lol....I think I'll wait a little bit longer. These have been growing very fast, but seem to be sucking a little bit of the life out of the mother plant. Maybe in a few weeks.

Knee high, and any smaller ones while you are at it.

I'm thinking about it. I'm going to take off at least one. The question is if I take one, which one should I take?

I usually wait until they are atleast 1.5 ft. high.

I first noticed the one on the left first, but it's not growing as vigorously as the other one.

seems the advice was mother + one large pup

notice the pic here
that second plant will be much closer to fruiting to reduce wait between harvests

I guess I'll keep one of the pups then.
