hi, I'm a new banana plant owner! I've recently purchased two banana plants (Jamaican red and Grand Nain) from Aloha Tropicals online. When I received them in the mail they were beautiful. I transplanted them into a larger pot (around 10") a day later. I added a mixture of 3/5 cactus palm mix, 1/5 top soil, and 1/5 compose to the larger pot. I further put a half inch layer of compose at the top to mulch them. I sprinkled about a tablespoonful of 10-20-20 fertilizer and a pinch of coffee rounds. I watered them both until I saw water start to trickle out of the holes at the bottom. They are located at the sunniest part of my yard in Kapolei, Hawaii.
Today I noticed a couple of the leaves had turned brown and wilted.
What's the deal??? Too much sun?
Can anyone help?
thanks a bunch! (no pun intended)

could be a sun issue..you do not know if where you got them from had them in direct sun or under nursery shade...go slow not full sun for a couple of weeks...little at a time for week or two...or just under shade of other banana plant,or other large leaf plant..sun burn my guess..

Welcome! I'd guess it was the intense sun. Best to acclimate them to the new conditions, starting them out in shade and gradually moving them out more and more. Good luck!
