Good evening,

Here are sone plantlets I’ve just got through mail one day ago.
Two of them show a strange 90° curvature in their pseudostem.
Do you think this problem occurred during the 10 days transport because the parcel was on its side and the plants in the dark ?
Are they any others explanations ?
What must I do to correct this tendancy ?
Thanks for sparing your advices.

Phil

Stalk and tie them ASP. Light space out of sun.

Thanks Ante,

Stalk them is quite impossible because they are very stiff and rigid.
I might break them.
I though about repoting them vertically but in this case the 90° bending would be under the ground.
What is the best solution ?

I would do the second solution and stalk them :)

some kinda geotropism...i'd plant the roots as usual and just prop the stalk away from the soil...and let nature take it's course...

If you turn the bend away from the light/sun they will straighten themselves

Hi,

I had exact same thing once. Was very surprised. Nothing helped. A new leaf broke the bend and appeared normal and straight. I think I had to 'help' it a bit with a razor blade. It looked like it was giving birth to a new leaf:)

looks like they have been grown in a crowded position and they have grown towards the light available. They will straighten up.
