On a tree like an apple tree, the drip line is used as a guide for placement of dry fertilizer. Where do you place dry fertilizer on banana plants from small plants to fruiting height?

pretty much anywhere close to the tree, in the watering zone.

I tend to stay within 4 feet of the trunk (I guess, I dunno, I've never really paid attention!) but they do send roots out quite a ways just under the surface. And it certainly won't hurt if you go a little further than you think you should.

Thanks guy's for the replies. I would have thought you might use the thickness of the pseudostem to figure out how far out to go. I did read where the roots can go up to 10 feet out.
