I'm a Belgian guy , living in Thailand and i have a fully legal company, specialising in export of plants, seeds etc..
Very recently I found a very remote and small nurserie wich is growinw AND selling around 200 Musa species !

BUT : its a nightmare for correct determination.
I got a list with thai names and i'm trying to connect them with English/latin names.
Found a few already but could use some help and the faster i got this list solved, the faster i can sell 200 species :-)
Thanks to all in advance; Peter

40. should be Musella Lasiocarpa and Abyssinian banana is Ensete Ventricosum not Glaucum
other than that the first 12 are correct.

New 1000 Fingers maybe is sensitive to low Temperatures at this early stages................specially after a long journey in the box...............

I plant my 1000 Fingers directly in the field.................

Every thing was doing fine............but here in Brazil we are in the end of the Winter................

And one week later was very cold...............and I had to Pot it................and place it in a hoter place inside my house...............near a clear roof............that is warmer...............

I think that I save it.............

It suffer a lot with cold weather.............and becomes brown.............

I removed all rotten material very gentle..................with a sharp blade..............

Now it´s in the field again.................once the weather is hotter............and it is showing sigs of recovery........................the base is still green.................and the cigar leaf is not rotten.................

But I almost loose my beloved 1000 Finger................

I think that the best Idea is to Pot it..............

And give the Plant some heat.............

Meanwhile it's around 230 species.
Some will fall off, more will come. I get new , very exiting species every week.
This week i got a 'waterbanana' and no it's NOT the Thyphonodorum but its a banana they grow here in permanent flooded areas.

Is this an edible variety or an ornamental variety? (Does the fruit have seeds?)

Well I have to honest and i can tell what my (pretty reliable) supplier tells me. He says it is a Tall species with very nice, large fruit. They selected this species for growing in flooded areas so its the only banana they would get there.

I'm thinkin of a swamp right now that I want to put some nanners in.
They won't freeze either on account of being down in the swamp. :bananas_b

My interest is fruit production in area frequently flooded for 2 days-2 weeks.
The soil is sand/silt/muck on the edge of a swamp.
Frequently flooded in summer, water table .75meters in winter.

Shallow swamps are an untapped resource in this area.

I looked at the site and sent you a message to you threw your message center online.
I had a few questions mainly if you combine shipping I can't do $80.00 on shipping for each and every individual plant.
Do you have any Ensete for sale yet? I didn't see any plants or seeds.

hello, quick question, is the "highgate" you have the same as the dwarf gros michael variety? i notice that your website says that it's tetraploid, but i thought that gros michael was triploid.
