Its a good thing for the net and honest people on message boards. So people can't ripe you off as easy. When my Wife said they were really cheap I knew something was wrong. Then I see several nanners that said zone 8-10 and I know thats not correct. BUT the rojo did over winter here in zone 8b at our city conservatory like two years ago. No idea how long they had it or how many winters it saw. Can't remember how the winter was when I saw it,but spring it had tiny pups then maybe they threw it away or it died off. A store down the street over wintered two large birds of paradise this year. But we had a really warm winter, several weeks of upper 50-70. Norm is usually 30-40-50. Yet when plants do this they tend to all of a sudden melt away with summer heat.

Off Topic... BUT my goal is to overwinter cavendish here. Well known greenhouse owner with a killer company, swears up and down his nanners out front that grow to 6ft are cavendish. I live a mile from the beach 8b. He is 50mins away and cooler 8a. His always die to the ground and come right back,no protection except mulch which I think is never added to. I said are you sure, maybe they are rajapuri. He said nope same cavendish I sell in the greenhouse. Looking at them I can't tell. They are just plain green color plants. Cavendish family loses alot of the colored leaves the bigger the plant gets. I really wish he would give me a pup of it. Charge me the cost of one from the greenhouse.

I am speaking from direct experience with Willis Orchard: Don't buy from them, that simple.

I don't go by what is posted on the Internet. So last year I placed a sizable order.
The raspberries were the wrong variety, the black berries had Dew berries with them labeled as the same kind. And several Kiowa(sp) had, I'm sure, what appeared to be large stem gulls. The peach and plums............. I wont say anymore........

The plant quality was the worst I have ever encountered ordering off the Internet.
That's thats...

I just got some Loquats from them and they were well packed with excellent root systems.

They are not the same as Ty ty but like Ty Ty there seems to be considerable variation in whether or not people are satisfied.

Careful what you read on the internet though, some people post negatives and have no first hand experience.

to see pics of what I received look here: http://www.bananas.org/191534-post32.html

I wouldn't get bananas from Willis Orchard or Tyty. Tyty had decent almond trees. I search for growers that ship now days. Its more cost effective if you know what you want. :^)

Willis does accept on premises sales IF you pre-schedule and order a minimum of $200.00 worth of plants. Barnettmill and I are considering a trip down there.

After receiving wrong banana - I talked to Jay and e-mailed pics. Willis Orchard replaced my banana free of charge
