I noticed one of my Gran Nain/Dwarf Cavendish (I mixed two of each kind up when repotting, so I don't know which is which) is producing a pup. Should I separate it? When should I do this? The main plant is about 6" high with 6" leaf span... It's a baby... So what should I do?

Plant the main plant with pup attached in at least a 15 gallon container. Separate the pup when it is 12" or so tall.

Or don't separate it at all. There is no "need" to separate pups. You separate pups to generate new plants to put somewhere else or to control the size of the mat. Commercial growers tend to maintain 2-3 plant mats. Home growers do whatever they want, ranging from not separating pups to keeping just a single plant per mat.

I was hoping to grow them in smaller containers, maybe 5 gallons at the most, so I can control their size. I need to be able to store them in a 6 x 8 greenhouse in the winter.
