I have several large stags hanging around my back porch. This past spring, a dove decided to build a nest in the top of one and raised a family. We have coffee about 6 feet away every morning and talked to her, and she wasn't bothered by us at all. She must have liked us because about 6 weeks ago, she came back to do it again. It is fun to watch them build the nest, sit on the eggs, the 2 adults taking turns, then raising the 2 chicks, feeding them, etc. When the hurricane was getting ready to come through yesterday, the evening before, she started hassling the chicks to get them to fly out. Must have known a storm was coming. They were all gone by yesterday. ANYWAY, thought you would just enjoy the pic and the story. This is momma with the 2 chicks sitting next to her.

OK, guess I had to put it in my gallery first.

Obviously we could not access your local computer address and that your computer is not a web server. Obviously the pic is in your harddrive, your browser is the only one that can display it in your machine.
The first thing you have to do is upload your picture into the gallery in this forum. Then reference it by the address of the picture in the galley as shown in the browser. Then do the same format you did with the [slash IMG] pair, but do not include the double quotes.

OK, got it but you have to go to the gallery and click on it to get it big enough to see. Not sure why it is so small when you guys all get nice BIG pics on here. Probably the size is based on the quality I have the camera set to take the pic at?

Yes you should click on the pic thumbnail to make it big and then copy the URL address of the big pic into your post bounded by the /IMG in brackets
There is a way to get your picture bigger. Usually your camera will have a utility software installed and one of the editing options is to resample to resize your pics, just use more pixels for sizing up pics but then quality could suffer.

Always nice to have mourning doves nest around your home.
It's been years since I spotted any around where I've lived.
It was great to see her there when I visited your place.
It's cool to know the end of the saga, that they left for the storm.
Thanks for posting the pic :)
I should have taken one when I was there.

Very nice. I love the picture! Afraid I think the hurricane was just a coincidence . When birds have second clutches they try to get them out of the nest as soon as possible. Even out of the nest, most of them die.
