I was discussing this with one of my friends who has a different view on the benefits of telling folks "thanks", even if it's just for getting a banana plant that I bought and the seller did what they were supposed to do. I explained if I dine out and have my dinner brought to me, I always say "thanks" except for the very rare (0.1%?) of the times when service has been awful (I once waited for my dinner in Sienna, Italy for 3 hours and then just got an appetizer plate....no thanks were coming from me..haha). Yes, I say "thanks" to a bank teller when I go into the bank and make a deposit. No, I do not thank the ATM machine if I do it outside! I think clicking a "thanks" button here is pretty easy and sometimes folks wonder if it's really meant or not. I like telling folks "thanks" and I smile at strangers, friends, etc. because I think it helps set a good tone on how we interact with one another and think we can all make it a better day for one another.

Okay, sometimes I fall and get caught up in disputes, etc. I try to avoid holding onto grudges and can almost say I never do. I'm still upset with one person but I'm trying to move on. Hey, someone once tried to kill me (yes, really) and I quickly forgave him and let that go pretty easily because I knew they acted out of the pain they had at the time.

With that in mind, I'd like to say "thanks" to everyone who has befriended me, given me advice, sold me nice plants, GIVEN me nice plants, traded plants with me, and posted nice photos that brightened my dad. Thanks to Jarred also for starting this forum where I've made many friends.

THANKS AGAIN!!! :D

oh man, can't forget...
Thanks, Tog. You made my day so many times I lost count.

BTW, just figured out I had messed up my sign line and just fixed it to put back the smoking banana for our dear friend Tog...

Walking the dog yesterday and a neighbor gave me a Beaumont guava plant. I said thanks

woohoo, thanks for sharing. I think my guavas died. :( Hope you take better care of the one your neighbor gave you than you did with the one I gave you! ;) No biggie, I kill plenty of plants from plant neglect. We do what we can!

Thank God for the beautiful weather today. Not even noon and we're up to 80F already. Tomatoes are loving it. Linda took Michael to a Boy Scout project this morning (thanks, dear!) and after they get back I'm hoping to plant the rest of the Sungold F1 tomatoes.

The 3 striped potato beetles (see Three-lined Potato Beetle (Lema daturaphila) on Cape Gooseberry | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/imbala/3041913638/) ... not my photo) are doing a number on my cape gooseberry. The pyrethrin spray takes care of the ones that are there but more come back. I'd be thankful for any tips on dealing with them!

You are treading a very thin line there, Harvey. My name is not on that list, and I for
one hold a grudge forever!!! :)

Don't hold grudges, my friend, it only makes you miserable. Thanks to you too! Want to pull some weeds for me to get some extra big thanks??? :D

Thanks to John NY for some beautiful hibiscus I once got from him though they died from some neglect. :( Also really enjoyed your beta fish story...my wife keeps one and she's had good luck with her latest.

Sure, all you have to do is pay the travel expenses and I will be right there with an
"Olaf loves Harvey" sign around my neck and all grudges will be forgotten :)

Thanks to by "brother" Bruce who brought me a crate of asparagus today. Harvest season is ending here!

In the 60s I ate asparagus pretty much every day for 2-3 months. My dad used to farm 107 acres of it. Never grew tired of it but missed it shortly after the season ended. Unfortunately, my son Michael doesn't care for it....yet. ;)
