Oh, puleeeeeeze, not another florida-hell nursery thread.

I don't know you, but just based on the 'join date' and past history on this forum with florida-hell (and the fact that they were using one of my photos without permission), makes me doubt the veracity of your claim (and don't go getting all po'd before you learn their history - you'll see this is not an empty comment), and possibly that you even may be connected with them.

If you have really made a purchase from them and are happy - good for you, but I doubt you will have cheerleaders for them here. Deception and lack of ethics are the terms that come to mind when I hear 'florida-hell' in any context.

If you are happy with your plants - great, but you might want to not mention where they are from (for about 5 years or more) unless someone really presses hard for that information.

You might even want to read the thread Florida Hill Nursery? (http://www.bananas.org/f2/florida-hill-nursery-13340.html?highlight=floridahill+florida+hill) - I believe it was saved to provide a history, and a 'strong' caution for potential customers. buellracing01 is the owner, and was passing himself off as a customer and giving them rave reviews (like your post), and then when exposed, instead of coming clean, got very abusive.

Also, buellracing01 and hotwheels80 both sort of refer to the same thing - this also makes my bs-meter begin twitch. Just sayin' :lurk:

sunfish is in CA, but I'm not sure where. He would know CA growers I would think. I wouldn't know any, I'm about as far from CA as Florida is...

I also have read that thread and now have caution when it comes to accepting FH's validity and whether or not I would do business with them. I will say this over on another forum a member ordered from them, posted pics and had a good review other than slow shipping to Georgia. He also advertised for other sites which I wouldnt think a business owner would do unless absolutely desperate. He also has a blog that convinces me that its not buell. Anyways Of course take that for what it is. As far as if hotwheels80 is affiliated Im sure Admin could check the IP from where he/she is posting(unless of course behind a proxy) and see if it checks out.

Well, if as cagey (or paranoid?) as I am, I'd probably have a few different handles to post from. I know that there was more than one website using my photo, and no-doubt they were affiliated. Also, no-doubt they would be supportive of each other in recommendations, etc. I can't recall the name of the other site, but I have a really great screen-capture of it stashed away - it very clearly shows my photo on their site. It has since been removed after I emailed them, but I'll hang on to it for a while. I now have a 'real cute' watermark to commemorate the the theft, just in case it happens again.

Lol! This thread has taken a turn I would never have thought of. I only did if to say thanks for fast shipping, nothing more.

I don't believe anyone has said anything about bad service from FHN

Mark and Randy, can we please have copies of your driver's licenses, social security cards, bank statement, and PINs so we can verify a few things?

JUST KIDDING! I think too many folks are paranoid about things and too quick to cast doubts on things. I guess it's just because of so many scams that go on these days though I think I've been pretty successful in avoiding any of those. Good luck with your bananas from FHN as well as anywhere else.

BTW, the first bananas I bought were from Wellspring through eBay and they had good feedback. Well, I think all three varieties I bought were mislabeled but one of them is probably my favorite out of the 40 or so varieties I've tried. Go figure!

LOL! I see what you mean. I'm only four banana plants into this hobby and just trying to learn more and more about them.

Thanks for bringing some new blood here. Things have been kind of slow lately but now that the weather is warming up and we've got some new "faces", I look forward to getting some of the adventure spirit back myself.

I too purchased from Florida Hill, last year and this year on ebay - the plants were super cheap and grew really fast. The Thai Black got to about 7 feet tall before I brought it in the basement for winter. No complaints here. Paul

I think the Goldfinger and Mysore are next on my list.
